POMELLATO INTRODUCES THE NEW NUVOLA RUBY

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The free-spirited Nuvola collection is Pomellato’s alternative interpretation of the classic solitaire ring. Launched in 2018, each of the components in the Nuvola range is carefully sourced to ensure full traceability of the supply chain, from mine to finished jewel, marking Pomellato’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
For 2021, the Maison adds to previous diamond versions with the arrival of a new solitaire ring showcasing a deep red, responsibly sourced Greenland ruby. Discovered deep beneath the Arctic snow and ice at the Aappaluttoq mine in Greenland, the rubies were formed 3 billion years ago in one of the oldest rock formations on earth. Yet the Aappaluttoq mine is a relatively new venture that became operational in 2017.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15823″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The Greenland Ruby A/S company is licensed by the Greenlandic government to develop the mine and it states that each ruby is: ‘Mined, cut and polished adhering to ethical, social, human rights, and environmental laws and responsible practices.’ Greenland rubies are the most responsibly sourced gemstones of their kind, and the company – a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council – is able to offer full transparency of the entire process.
Like all Nuvola jewels, Pomellato’s Nuvola Ruby is crafted entirely from Fairmined gold. An assurance label that certifies its gold originates from responsible artisanal sources and small cooperatives, mainly in Latin America, Fairmined ensures that profits directly benefit gold miners and their communities, improving their standard of living and welfare.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”15824″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]“Pomellato is increasingly an eco-conscious brand – sustainability for us is a core driver,” says Sabina Belli, CEO of Pomellato. “It is about caring for People and for the Planet; therefore, it is about safeguarding craftsmanship and sourcing materials in an ethical way that is respectful of the environment and people’s work conditions. Our jewels are made to last a lifetime, which is another positive aspect in the overall discussion on sustainability.”
Made to order at Casa Pomellato in Milan and naturally limited in numbers, the Nuvola Ruby ring will appeal to fashion-savvy, eco-conscious women who expect more from luxury and look for products with responsible supply chains that give back to all those involved in its creation.
Pomellato was one of the first jewellery brands to achieve 100% responsible gold purchasing in 2018.
